Global technology solutions provider Saggezza has signed a deal that will see it set up a permanent base in Sunderland.
Headquartered in Chicago, Saggezza has teamed up with Sunderland City Council and support organisation Sunderland Software City to move into the Sunderland Software Centre. The company expects the move will help accelerate its growth and expand its ability to support its growing global client base with world-class technology solutions.
Martin Williams, managing director of Saggezza UK, said: “Sunderland is a hugely attractive place for us, with the right support network, links to universities and infrastructure to spur on our development. We’re delighted to be committing to the city on a long-term basis, with plans to create many more jobs here during 2015 and beyond.”
Sunderland City Council leader Paul Watson said: “Saggezza’s move to the Sunderland Software Centre proves that the city has done all that is necessary to foster the right conditions for businesses in the digital, technology and software realm. It’s fantastic that – as a result – the city can now call itself home to a really vibrant IT business.”
Saggezza is working closely with the University of Sunderland, the council and the Sunderland Software Centre to ensure that the opportunity to work with Saggezza is offered to graduates, apprentices and other local talent that can offer an innovative mind and a passion for the technology industry.
Tony Ikwue, director of enterprise and innovation at the University of Sunderland said: “Saggezza is a really exciting business, and we’re delighted to support the team with access to training programmes and graduate recruitment activities to help them take on the skilled, adaptable people they need to continue to grow.”
Saggezza is planning to offer a number of employment opportunities for the Sunderland area – candidates can explore current opportunities at saggezza.com/careers – with the company hosting two recruitment events in April; one at the Evolve Business Centre on the 29th and another at the Sunderland Software Centre on the 30th. Further information will be announced on Saggezza’s LinkedIn page and on Twitter at @saggezza_inc.
