Event brings HP opportunities for Software SMEs

One of the world’s biggest technology companies will be in Sunderland this month to outline opportunities for North East software SME’s to collaborate on upcoming projects.

HP, which has a growing UK base at Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside,  have a number of current and upcoming projects where they want to contract with a local companies to build HP’s delivery capacity.

The company will be visiting the Sunderland Software Centre on the 25th February to outline their requirements, discuss upcoming and current projects and talk about the simplified models of working with local software SMEs they have established.

HP have a register of software and technology SME’s that help the company extend their ability to create solutions for their customers. Companies on this register are used by HP technologists to identify potential partners for collaborative work.

David Dunn, Chief Executive of Sunderland Software City said: “Working with HP in the North East is a huge opportunity for software SMEs of all sizes to sell their development services to HP at a local level.

“A lot of companies are not aware of this, or if they are believe the process is too difficult.  HP has a real requirement to build their local capacity and have made SME engagement both a priority and simple.”

HP is particularly looking to have discussions with companies of all sizes who can demonstrate Microsoft, Java, Database, Mobility/Apps and SOA capabilities.

The event runs from 9am-11am and software companies can hear directly from HP representatives about how companies can sign up to the supplier register as well as hear from software companies who are currently working HP.

The event is free to attend and businesses are asked to register their attendance at https://workwithhp.eventbrite.co.uk
