In response to the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve made some changes to our business service delivery to ensure we can continue to support you and your business safely.

COVID-19 virtual drop-ins

First and foremost, the Sunderland Software City team is here to listen and is here to help. Whether you wish to discuss a specific business challenge or pain point, or you’d simply like to check in with the team for an informal ten minute chat – we’ve got you covered. We’ve been at the forefront of supporting North East digital tech growth for over ten years now and our commitment to both the sector and region remains unwavering. While we can’t get out to do the rounds as per usual, we encourage you to book in a virtual remote drop-in with the team at your convenience. You aren’t alone and we’d love to chat. Our business support service is still running in full swing! Whether you’re looking for help with marketing strategy and customer engagement, market research and intelligence or you’re considering investing in a new tech platform; we can help.

Our fully-funded business support service is now taking place remotely through video calls and digital whitewall technology (we love our whitewalls!). As always, the service is available to start-ups and SMEs in the North East LEP area (Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland and Durham). Funding & Legal Advice Digital Drop-ins

Our monthly drop-ins with North East Fund and Muckle LLP are now taking place remotely, via phone or video call. Are you looking for more advice on raising finance and investment, or do you have a question surrounding your business legals? Hourly slots are available every last Tuesday morning of the month. CreativeXR Webinars

Our CreativeXR information sessions as part of Digital Catapult will now be taking place digitally.

CreativeXR is an innovation programme which welcomes ideas that explore how immersive technologies can engage and inspire audiences. Successful applicants will receive bespoke mentoring and can expect to receive £20,000 in funding to develop a creative prototype with further introductions made to investors. Online Skills Activities

In normal circumstances you can often find our team engaging with students in person. From last week, our skills team has (quite literally!) been working around the clock to create new approaches to digital skills delivery. This has included a design-your-game-character competition and a STEM careers related treasure hunt (read about them on our blog) which parents and students can complete at home. These are just the start as our team continues to develop activities that help young people explore careers in STEM remotely.
